The Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (BUSINESSMED), in collaboration with the General Confederation of Italian Industry (CONFINDUSTRIA) and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and , will organise the Euro-Mediterranean Forum, which will take place in Rome (Confindustria Headquarters, 30 Viale dell’Astronomia), on November 30th, before the beginning of MedRome 2016, Mediterranean Dialogues (Rome – December 1-3 2016).
The event will gather several businessmen and representatives of business Organizations and Institutions from the South Mediterranean Countries with the aim of revitalizing the economic relations between Mediterranean Countries and enhancing the entrepreneurship environment through synergic collaboration between the stakeholders.
The Mediterranean has been a privileged platform and a cultural and ethnical crossroad throughout history, a rich space within its complexity having all the advantages to become a strategical region on the international scene, in which Italy would represent a reference.
Italy is currently the third trade partner of the Mediterranean Countries, behind the United States and Germany, with an export volume that has doubled in the last 15 years, amounting to 30 Billions, plus the 15 Billions Euros coming from the export trade to the Gulf Countries. This helped Italy to reach a growth level higher than other main European countries.
Italy represents a strategic partner among the Mediterranean markets, thanks to its high added-value sectors and to the enormous opportunities of know-how and sustainable development promotion and industrial system.
The event will have a multi-sectoral approach, thus different sectors will be concerned such as energies, infrastructure, buildings and mechanics.
An opening session with several institutional contributions will be hold in the morning; for the afternoon a networking session will be available for the attending companies in order to share best practises and know-how and to explore new patterns of cooperation.
During the morning session, a special focus on energy sector will be dedicated to new opportunities coming from the latest discoveries of deposits in the region and the role of Italy as a transit platform and energetic hub between Europe and Africa.
